WEDNESDAY 23rd July 2008
Office corridor between studios 2 and 3
Up very early this morning. Car arrived at home at 0720 to take Daria to TV studios where she is to film an advert with Vaclav Havel (the ex President) and other famous Czech artists from different fields, including a scientist, actor, photographer, musician etc, to promote the Czech Republic throughout the world. So I headed into the stu
dios and met Christopher Hampson (who had been on a 10k run at 05.00) and Jonathan Still (who had been to his favourite outdoor pool for 50 x 50m laps at 07.00) (They’re all mad of course) and we went for coffee followed by breakfast at a very unusual private engineering hobby club over-looking Charles Bridge, that we discovered by mistake inside an office building. Got a phone call from a dad saying his daughter needed to see our Physio, Jiri Cumperlik, so we met her back at the studios and he saw her straight away, and all this before 10.00AM.
A reasonably uneventful day. Charles Mudry received huge applause at the end of his class, and Jonathans playing is wonderful to listen to. Beatrice Knop has hurt her foot, but you wouldn’t be able to tell. At five o’clock I had to head back out to the airport to meet Robbie arriving from London.
The girls at the Cedaz mini bus transport booth are so used to me now that they just hand over all their give-away maps when they see me approaching. “33 Dlouha is it” they ask before I say anything now.

I don’t think I’m hard to find, I stand between the glass exit doors and the transport booths, just in front of the vending machine in the picture below.
Where I stand to meet everyone
Arrived back at the hostel at 19.00 and ran into all the dancers returning from their interview with Jan-Eric Wikstrom, hosted by Christopher Hampson tonight, the boys went up to get Robbie to take him out to eat.
Me back to the studio for emailing (a boy coming next week can’t decide where to stay) and a friend of mine from school days celebrated his 50th last week and sent me a funny video of the day by the children there.
Tomorrow is Jan-Eric’s last day with us, he has to rehearse at the week-end in Stockholm for performances next week in the USA, so we are getting Yat-Sen Chang to take over from him for a couple of days before Tamas Solymosi comes in next week.
