Jozef Dolinský Jr. graduated from the Eva Jaczová Dance Conservatory (1988). He extended his education by completing the speciality of Cultural Studies at Comenius University and the Department of dramaturgy and theatrical directing at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
From 1990 Jozef Dolinský Jr. Became a member and later the first soloist of the SND Ballet. On our first ballet stage he portred dozens of characters – the most successful include Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, the Prince in The Nutcracker, Albert and Hilarion in Giselle, Basilio in Don Quixote, Death in Requiem, Romeo and Thybalt in the Romeo and Juliet ballet, Prince Désiré in Sleeping Beauty and Theseus in Midsummer Night’s Dream amongst others. Jozef Dolinský Jr. was the artistic director of the State Opera Ballet in Banská Bystrica from 2005 – 2010, where he staged and choreographed several productions, for example the dance musical Snow White and the Seven Racers (2006, music by V. Patejdl), ballets A Soldier’s Tale (2007, music by Stravinsky) Macbeth (2008, music by K. Molčanov), The Firebird and Petrushka (2009, music by Stravinsky) and the dance drama Hunchback (2010, music by M. Jarre).
Jozef Dolinský Jr. has guested during his career at the Tokyo Inoue Ballet (1993, 1995), the Fukuoka International Ballet Theatre (2001), as a guest soloist at the gala project called Petrograd Ballet Stars (Stars of St. Petersburg, 2002). Since 2012 he has headed the SND Ballet.
