Francine
Richard trained at L'Ecole de Danse de l'Opéra de Paris
and joined the Company of the Paris Opéra in 1966. She was
promoted to Sujet in 1975, dancing numerous roles in the repertoire
of the company. She also danced in ballets by Balanchine and Robbins
and was partnered by Rudolf Nureyev, Patrick Dupont and Patrice
Bart. She was appointed Principal Inspector of Dance at the Ministry
of Culture, France and has also been a guest teacher with several
ballet companies. From 1993, she taught the French State Diploma
for Dance Teachers. In 1996 Francine Richard was invited to work
on the development of dance in the Départment des Vosges.
She joined the staff of English National Ballet School in September
1999.
